CNA recognizes the challenges facing organizations, professionals and our more than one million healthcare customers who are dedicated to providing our communities with quality care. That’s why we released our first hospital claim report, expanding our acclaimed series of claim reports for the healthcare market.
The Hospital Professional Liability Claim Report 2015: Stepping Up to Greater Quality and Patient Safety uses CNA claim data to provide recommendations that hospitals can use to help enhance patient safety and minimize liability. The report examines professional liability claims that closed over the ten year period from Jan.1, 2005, through Dec. 31, 2014.
The report offers actionable recommendations, which can help hospitals become a high-reliability organization. In addition to recommendations, the report offers claim scenarios to illustrate several allegations associated with significant indemnity payments, as well as a self-assessment tool to help hospitals evaluate liability exposures and effectively reduce their risk.
