First and foremost, congratulations to all recent graduates on completing a major milestone in your lives. These next few months will be an exciting time for you, full of decisions that will help set a foundation for the years to come. With that in mind, I wholeheartedly encourage you to explore the insurance industry when looking to kick-start your careers.
What is insurance? For some, sales might come to mind—underwriters and agents working together to acquire business. For me, insurance means much more than that. As an industry, we provide protection to people in their darkest hours of need. Whether a family member becomes sick or a natural disaster strikes, we’re there to help pick up the pieces. CNA alone provides protection to more than 1 million businesses and professionals around the world. And that’s something that I’m proud to support every single day.
Some of you may be wondering how you would fit into the insurance world. I’m happy to report that jobs in insurance house a variety of skills and disciplines, catering to interests across the board. Do you have a degree in social sciences or a background in nursing? You could make an ideal claims professional. Are you interested in communication or deductive reasoning? Working as an adjuster, appraiser, examiner or investigator could be a good fit for you. All in all, job opportunities in the insurance industry are not only endless but in high demand. We’re looking for them to be filled by you: top, diverse talent.
If you’re searching for an industry that makes a direct impact on people’s lives, that challenges you to grow and be better every day, then insurance is the place for you.
