Senior Vice President, Talent Management
In her role as Senior Vice President, Talent Management, Annette leads Talent Acquisition, Learning and Development, Leadership Development, Succession Planning, Workforce Analytics, HR Operations and Corporate Communications. Annette joined CNA as VP of Talent Management in June 2013. Her role involved leading over 50 talent professionals through 4 AVPs to drive the talent agenda throughout the organization.
Originally from Edinburgh, Scotland, Annette spent 26 years with UK-based global insurance giant Aviva, initially in business leadership roles in Underwriting and Claim, before moving into HR 20 years ago. Her career in HR has covered the breadth of the HR spectrum, including roles in HR Business Partnering, Change Consultancy, Organization Development and Employee Engagement. Annette became Aviva’s first Head of Talent in 2006 leading a program to define, implement and embed the organization’s approach to Talent Management across 36,000 employees in 26 locations globally. Annette relocated with her family to Chicago through Aviva in 2008 and led their HR Center of Expertise across North America.
Annette is a Business Studies Graduate from Edinburgh’s Napier University and a Fellow of Europe’s leading HR profession, the CIPD. She recently became a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach, and is a member of the International Coaches’ Federation.
