Mike Ahern is a 40-plus year career professional with a specialty in Construction underwriting. He has held various branch, regional and home office positions over the last several years. His current responsibilities include oversight of our Large Construction book, as well as emerging construction issues, new product development and technical training. In addition, he partners with several of our branches in the development of their Middle Market Construction book and is responsible for our construction risk transfer and coverage strategy across the enterprise.

Mike has presented on various construction-related topics for organizations as varied as the Construction Financial Managers Association (CFMA) and American Subcontractors Association (ASA). He has written on construction underwriting issues for various association publications, including those of the Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC) and the Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA). He is also frequent contributor to the American Subcontractors Association’s quarterly periodical: The Contractors Compass.

He is a graduate of Loyola University and holds the Construction Risk Insurance Specialist (CRIS) designation with the Insurance Risk Management Institute (IRMI).
