
Pete Bressoud serves as Vice President, Healthcare Facilities and Providers. In this role, he is responsible for the management and oversight of the Hospital run off and Allied Healthcare vertical. Inclusive of these duties are the Captives and Alternative Risk portfolio, which includes Fronts and matching deductible. He has additional oversight of the international book of business.
In addition to his leadership role, Pete serves as a member of the editorial boards for the CNA risk management publications Alert Bulletin® and Vantage Point®.
In his previous roles at CNA, Pete was the Assistant Vice President with responsibilities for our Physician book, Allied West and Alternative risk program. In addition as an underwriter for Hospitals, Physician Groups and non-traditional accounts. His portfolio included but was not limited to Assumed Reinsurance, Hospital systems, Academic Medical Systems, Primary Hospitals (including LTAC, Rehab, Critical Access and Pediatric facilities), and Physician groups over 20+ practitioners.
Prior to starting with CNA in May of 2005 as an Underwriting Consultant, Pete was with the OHIC insurance company for 8 years as a Senior Underwriter. In that position, he underwrote facilities and physicians within all the states OHIC was licensed and managed the Northeast Ohio Team. Before OHIC, Pete worked at the Independent Insurance Agents of Ohio as the manager of their professional liability agency.
Pete received a bachelor of science degree from The Ohio State University. Pete has also earned the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU) and Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) designations.
