The United States was impacted by 24 tropical cyclones from 2000 to 2018 which caused over 5,900 deaths and over $780 billion in losses1. It is essential, therefore, that public, private and non-profit sectors work together to endure these deadly and costly storms. The resilience of individuals and each organization plays an important role in protecting lives and sustaining economic advances for these catastrophic events.

Here are three simple steps you can take now to prepare for this hurricane season:

1. Review and share the Federal Emergency Management Resources with your employees, family and friends who live in areas where Hurricanes frequent.

2. Perform a brief business resiliency self-assessment to understand your organizational readiness.

3. Reach out and engage with the relevant Emergency Management Agencies for your location(s) of operation.
