Helping Healthcare Pros Step Up to Greater Patient Safety
On Friday, August 12, 2016, CNA’s Joyce Benton and Charlene Glock presented our Hospital Professional Liability Claim Report 2015: Stepping Up to Greater Quality and Patient Safety at the Florida Society for Healthcare Risk Management & Patient Safety (FSHRMPS) 2016 Annual Educational Conference.
On Friday, August 12, 2016, CNA's Joyce Benton, Assistant Vice President, Risk Control for Healthcare, and Charlene Glock, Risk Control Consultant for Healthcare, presented at the Florida Society for Healthcare Risk Management & Patient Safety (FSHRMPS) 2016 Annual Educational Conference. Their presentation, Hospital Professional Liability Claim Report 2015: Stepping Up to Greater Quality and Patient Safety, is based on CNA's latest Hospital Professional Liability Claim Report.
Benton and Glock provided interventions that may directly help hospitals improve patient care and reduce losses. CNA's report recommendations reflect hospitals need to focus on delivering what is already recognized as components of good patient care. By paying attention to the details, patient services are more likely to reflect processes that are the foundation to high quality and safe patient care.
The presentation also provided participants with a resource they can use to compare their loss history to the report data and finding and review their policies and procedures against CNA Risk Control recommendations.
