Ryann Elliott serves as Vice President of Underwriting for the Life Science area of CNA. In this role, she is responsible for the strategy, profitability, and growth of CNA’s Life Sciences products and professional and property/casualty lines of business.
With almost 25 years of experience in various capacities in the insurance industry, Ryann has extensive experience in the development of insurance portfolios, supporting technology, risk management and alternative risk transfer. Prior to joining CNA, Ryann spent time in the brokerage community serving the global risk management and transfer needs of life sciences, technology and federal government contracting clients. Early in her career, focusing on advocacy, Ryann developed proprietary insurance programs and online technology for an insurance trade association and lobbied for policy reform as the director of a national multi-practice brokerage operation with the largest trade organization in the U.S. working with 25,000 independent insurance agencies to model best practices in insurance brokerage and risk management.
Prior to earning her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at Averett University, Ryann focused her early college education on pre-med coursework including internships working with kidney disease research at the University of Virginia and kinesiology/orthopedics at Chippenham Sports Medicine Clinic.
