Ray Oral
Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer

Ray is senior vice president and chief information officer responsible for CNA’s Global Information Technology.  He leads CNA’s efforts to deploy integrated solutions in support of business priorities established to accelerate CNA’s growth in its chosen markets; and is responsible for delivering efficient and effective   application and infrastructure solutions, as well as ensuring that technology investments deliver the intended return.

He is also a member of an internal senior working group, the Operating Committee, which has primary responsibility for driving CNA’s strategy for long-term success, managing and coordinating change in its operating environment, and initiating and coordinating enterprise-wide projects.

Ray joined CNA in 2008 as senior vice president of Application Development & Maintenance, responsible for guiding Business Delivery, Quality Assurance & Testing. Prior to joining CNA, he spent 23 years with ABN AMRO/LaSalle Bank Group in a variety of technology and business leadership roles that supported LaSalle’s growth from a $1.5 billion organization in 1985 to $120 billion in 2006.  Prior to joining ABN AMRO, Ray held several IT leadership roles over a nine-year period with the Chicago Board Options Exchange, the premier and largest options exchange in the world.

He has served as an advisory board member to several leading  technology companies including Cisco, HP and Fidelity and currently serves on Accenture’s Insurance Advisory Board. Ray has also served on Mayor Daley’s  Technology Council and is currently serving on the Executive Committee of Lumity’s Board, , a not-for-profit technology and financial shared services organization that serves other not-for-profits throughout the city.
