Larry A. Haefner
Executive Vice President and Chief Actuary
  Larry is responsible for pricing, reserving and related actuarial activities for all CNA businesses. As chief actuary, Larry is responsible for the professional leadership of the organization’s actuarial function which includes property and casualty pricing and reserve analysis, predictive modeling and data quality as well as support for other corporate functions. Larry is a member of an internal senior working group, the Operating Committee, which has primary responsibility for putting CNA strategies into practice across the enterprise.

Before joining CNA in 2008, Larry had actuarial responsibility for Travelers’ $7 billion business portfolio, including Middle Market Commercial Accounts, Construction, Technology, Public Sector, Excess Casualty, Global Accounts, Large Property, Marine and Oil & Gas.

Prior to this, he served in several leadership positions at Travelers, including vice president and chief actuary of its $1.1 billion Construction Division. He has also held leadership positions at XL Insurance, OneBeacon Insurance Group and CGU Insurance Companies.
