Before joining CNA in July 2006, George was Executive Vice President & Chief Services Officer at The Chubb Corporation, where he spent more than 30 years in claims, operations and administration, holding positions of increasing responsibility. He is a member of the Insurance Services Organization Claim Council and holds the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation. George is a retired Major General (May 2008) from the U. S. Army Reserve. After the attack on September 11, 2001, he returned to active duty and spent the better part of four years in support of the Global War on Terrorism and Operation Iraqi Freedom. His military awards and decorations include: the Distinguished Service Medal, the Legion of Merit (two Oak Leaf Clusters); Meritorious Service Medal (one Oak Leaf Cluster); Army Commendation Medal (two Oak Leaf Clusters); Army Achievement Medal (one Oak Leaf Cluster); Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal (Silver Oak Leaf Cluster); National Defense Service Medal (Bronze Service Star); Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal; Global War on Terrorism Service Ribbon; Army Forces Reserve Medal (Gold Hourglass and three times Mobilization Device); and the Army Service Ribbon. He is a graduate of the prestigious U.S. Army War College. George is also a graduate of The U.S. Army Infantry School, Counterintelligence Officer Course, Aerial Surveillance Officer Course, Electronic Warfare Officer Course, and the Command and General Staff College. George holds a bachelors degree in Economics from St. Peter's College and an MBA from St. John's University. |
