California Medical Provider Network (MPN)

The CNA Medical Provider Network or “MPN” is a Workers’ Compensation program that we are jointly delivering with Coventry, a nationally recognized company that specializes in occupational medicine and Workers’ Compensation services. The MPN will be delivered through Coventry’s network of medical providers and facilities. This network has been built to provide your employees with timely and quality medical care. The MPN is easy to access and is here to assist your employees to return to health and a productive life.

In order to utilize the Medical Provider Network, employers are required to do the following:
1.
You must provide all employees with a copy of the MPN Employee Handbook (PDF, 337kb), and the MPN Employee Letter (PDF, 19kb) at the time of MPN implementation, at the time of hire, and at the time of injury. (Spanish versions of the MPN Employee Handbook (PDF, 314kb) and MPN Employee Letter (PDF, 19kb) are also available.)

2. You must direct all injured employees to a medical provider within the MPN.

3. You should post a listing of MPN Medical Providers that are in your area. This Medical Provider posting can be created by using the provider Web site accessed via http://www.talispoint.com/cna/campn.

Please feel free to download any of these documents and print as many copies as you need. These materials are only for the use of CNA insureds and are not to be reprinted by others without permission.

Important Note regarding the initial implementation of the MPN: Please be advised that the regulations governing the MPN do require you, the employer, to take certain actions. Failure to meet the requirements may result in your inability to utilize the MPN. A complete implementation packet will be sent to all current California policyholders in April 2005. All new policies written in 2005 and beyond will have information on the MPN included in the Policyholder Claims kit, which is sent to all new policyholders.
