New Safety Resource Link - U.S. Fire Administration
The U.S. Fire Administration Web site is a wealth of information. Of particular interest is their coffee break series on fire protection. There is a new bulletin released each week on a variety of hazards and fire protection topics. Additionally, there are some short videos available on the site covering sprinkler system testing. All these resources are short and to the point to help raise awareness of hazards and controls. Most include references if you want additional information.

NJ Boiler Rule Changes - The State of New Jersey announced changes to their boiler and vessel code effective October 6, 2008. Under the new requirements, pressure vessels are now subject to registration and inspection on a three year frequency. Certificate fees have increased for boilers. Also, violations are now required to be resolved within 60 days from the date of inspection. Please read New Jersey Boiler Rule Changes to understand the full impact of this code change.

Effects of the New York City Boiler Code Change (PDF, 96 kb)
The New York City Department of Buildings recently announced that it will be updating its boiler code rules, which go into effect on July 1, 2008. Under the new code building owners will have less time to correct boiler problems that are found during inspections. Please read this bulletin to understand the impact of this code change.
