 Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Workbench?
The Workbench tab displays all the jobs you have applied for, tasks you may need to complete, such as filling out an application and/or interviews that are scheduled or need to be confirmed.

I don't have a resume. Is one required?
Yes. If you do not have an electronic resume, click on the Resume Builder and the system will walk you through the steps to create your resume. Insert Link to Create a resume powerpoint.

How will I know if a job opens up for which I am qualified?
We encourage you to check the Web site frequently, as new jobs are posted daily. You should also use the Job Agent function on the Recruiting Workbench to enter search criteria and post your resume. As new positions become available, you may be included in searches conducted by Human Resources as they seek applicants who meet the skills, competencies and qualifications for new open positions.

What is a “Job Cart”?
In internet terms it is the same as a shopping cart. If you see a job you are interested in, you can save that job by clicking on “Add to Job Cart.” Click on Job Cart to display all the jobs you've selected. You will have the option to remove jobs from the cart by clicking the delete button. You can apply for all the jobs in your cart by selecting the box to the left of the job title and then clicking the “apply” button. Once a position has been filled, it will no longer show up in your Job Cart.

What is a “Job Agent”?
The Job Agent will let you set up key-word and other search criteria for newly posted jobs. You can use this system feature to be notified by e-mail when job titles containing key words and other search criteria you select are posted. Having a completed profile with resume in the system will mean your background will be available to recruiters. You may be contacted by a recruiter searching the system for individuals whose skills, competencies and qualifications appear to be a match for an open position. You can access the Job Agent function from the Saved Searches tab on your Recruiting Workbench.

What happens if I forget my password?
If you have forgotten your password, click on “Forgot Your Password”. Enter your e-mail address and answer the security question (this is a question you set up when you create your Profile). Your password will be e-mailed to you.

Should I complete a new profile for each job I want to apply to?
No. Our system allows you to use your profile to apply for multiple jobs by logging in under “Existing Member”.

Who should I contact regarding the status of my submission?
Once you apply for a job, you will receive an automatic e-mail response to confirm that we have been notified of your interest. If it is determined that you are a candidate, Human Resources will contact you by phone or e-mail to discuss your skills in detail or to schedule an interview.

My telephone number and address have changed. How can I update this information?
You may update your profile at any time by logging in under “Existing Member.” You may then click on My Profile and make changes. Once you have entered your new information, click on Save at the bottom of the page. Changes are updated in our database immediately.

I don't have an e-mail address. Is one required?
An e-mail address is required to apply online. If you do not have an e-mail address, there are several providers available that offer free e-mail accounts, such as http://www.hotmail.com, http://www.yahoo.com or http://www.google.com. Please note that CNA has no association with any e-mail provider.

How can I enter my updated resume on the system?
You can upload your most updated resume by simply clicking on the Add button under My Profile tab. Click on the red X to delete files you no longer need.

I received an e-mail that I have an assessment to take. Do I need to complete it to be considered for the job I applied for?
Yes. The application process is not complete for internal or external applicants until they complete an assessment. Assessments are required for every job to which you apply.

What does the Disqualified status mean on my Workbench?
This status will appear on your workbench when you are no longer being considered for the role or when the position for which you applied has been filled.

How can I become a CNA Agent?
To find information about becoming a CNA Agent, please go to www.cna.com. Click on the ''Agent Center'' link, under the AGENT RESOURCES section. You will have to contact your local branch office, which you will find under Agent Resources- Becoming an Agent. Your local CNA Branch Office will be able to assist you with next steps on how to become a CNA Agent.

Our Process
CNA’s Recruiting area works to support CNA's hiring objectives nationally.  Positions that are open to external candidates are posted on our Web site at cna.com/careers.

Due to the volume of applications we receive, we are unable to respond personally to each applicant.  Instead, resumes and qualifications are reviewed based on criteria set by our hiring team and reflected in our job descriptions.

Our online job posting process allows you to follow up on your application via a “workbench” that updates your status for each job to which you apply.  When a position is filled, or you are no long considered a candidate, you will receive an e-mail notifying you that the status on your workbench has changed to “disqualified.”  Keep in mind this is system language and is not a commentary on your professional qualifications.  Should your candidacy proceed, you will be contacted by a recruiter to discuss your background and qualifications, and you will be given additional details about the position.
